Membership is 100% free. There are no dues. The alliance is voluntary. Here are the requirements to join:
- You must be a self storage operator, investor, self storage management firm, or developer.
- If you are not one of the above, you must be the manager of an actual (open for business) self storage facility.
- In either case, you must have the authority (as owner, manager, or management company) to declare your facility aggregator-free.
- If you use aggregators, you may still join on a pledge to work towards becoming aggregator free within 120 days from date of application.
- You must agree to help educate other self storage operators on the threats aggregators pose.
- You must agree to the five stated purposes (on MISSION page) of the alliance.
AND...
- You must not have a financial interest in any aggregation company, website, or any of it's partners or subsidiaries.
Executive Directors of Self Storage Associations at the State, National, or International level may join the alliance to stay abreast of the educational information forwarded to operators (that may be shared internally with association employees and current board members only). It is understood that Self Storage Associations joining will not have their association listed unless they explicity desire to do so, and are joing the alliance for educational (information sharing) purposes only and that their membership is not necessarily an endorsement of the 5 stated purposes of this alliance. To join, please click on the application, fill out clearly, sign and return via fax to the number on the form. All information will be kept strictly confidential and will only be used to determine membership status in this voluntary alliance.
